The Art of Feeling
Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness
The first website to react to the world’s feelings, and the gallery launch to start people talking.
Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness wanted to share their company philosophy and get potential clients talking about empathy. So we partnered with a creative tech team from Goldsmith’s university – Random Quark – and created a piece of live art that displays the emotions of the social world.
The website uses a script that tasks IBM Watson to read a thousand random UK-based social media posts every minute, looking for words indicative of emotion. This data is then displayed as moving dots of different colours in a living breathing visual feast – inspired by the flight patterns of bees and birds. It's a live barometer of how the world is feeling, based on what people are sharing on social media.

The Art of Feeling event
We then announced the new focus on Empathy at a gallery in Shoreditch - inviting other artists exploring the theme, industry experts, and members of the press. Re-writing the code to work with EEG technology, we then turned the emotions of people at the event into unique and highly personal works of art.
